Dr. Dan Ellingson
General Dentist
Dr. Dan Ellingson is an owner of Regency Dental, which he and his partners purchased from Dr. Spanel in 2023. His focus is protecting the feel of a small practice while giving patients modern tools and options.
Dan grew up in Omaha. He earned a BS in biology with a chemistry minor from UNO, then his DDS from the UNMC College of Dentistry in 2012. He spent years in clinical practice focused on comprehensive and restorative dentistry, with advanced training through Spear Education and Phelan Dental Seminars. Today, he puts that experience into leading the Regency team.
He’s a member of the ADA, the Nebraska Dental Association, and the Omaha District Dental Association.
Outside the office, Dan loves the outdoors, nature, hiking, the ocean, and the occasional round of golf when he can get one in. He’s married to Leslie, an orthodontist at Omaha Orthodontics, so yes, teeth come up at dinner. They’re kept busy by their kids, Abram and Audra.

Dr. Ken Spanel
General Dentist
Dr. Kenneth Spanel was born and raised in Grand Island, Nebraska. He attended undergraduate college at the University of Lincoln, where he graduated with a bachelor of science in biology. Dr. Spanel then graduated from the University of Nebraska Medical Center and graduated with a doctorate of dental surgery. He has over 30 years of experience working with patients to provide the best dentistry. Dr. Spanel established his dental office in Omaha in 2000. He is a current member of the American Dental Association and enjoys keeping up with recent developments and ideas in dentistry.
Dr. Brandon Nelson
General Dentist
Dr. Brandon Nelson is a graduate of Creighton School of Dentistry. He is committed to providing the highest standard of dental care using the latest advancements in technology and techniques.
Known for a calm approach and attention to detail, Dr. Nelson focuses on patient education and preventive care while offering a full range of services including cleanings, fillings, crowns, veneers, teeth whitening, root canals, and dental implants. Dr. Nelson is also skilled in managing complex cases and providing tailored treatment plans.
When he’s not seeing patients, Dr. Nelson enjoys exercise, time at the lake with friends and family, and staying active outdoors with his two Chocolate Labradors.

I love being in a position where I can support both our patients and clinical team in a variety of ways, helping things run smoothly while ensuring everyone feels welcomed, informed, and cared for. My favorite part of working at Regency Dental is the supportive, team-oriented culture—we work hard, have fun together, and genuinely care about one another and the patients we serve. Outside of work, I like to stay active through women’s show choir and recreational sports. I also enjoy reading, spending time with family and friends, and finding opportunities to step outside my comfort zone and try new experiences.

I have been at Regency Dental since the early 2000s. Throughout my time here, I have had the privilege of building lasting relationships with my patients and watching families grow. I also love working with our amazing dental team! I believe we deliver exceptional patient care and are very supportive of each other. Outside of the office, I enjoy spending time with family and friends.

I am extremely passionate about my position in the dental field. I love spending time with each individual patient and educating on all things teeth and gums! Knowing the overall health benefits of good oral hygiene is of the utmost importance, and I am so grateful I can play a role in that. When not taking care of patients, I enjoy spending time outside, reading, and cooking. I also spend a lot of time playing or watching sports!

Vicki is originally from Lincoln and has practiced dental hygiene since 2021. She values building real relationships with her patients and is passionate about creating a positive, comfortable experience at every visit. Whether it’s your first appointment or your fiftieth, she takes the time to get to know you and make sure you feel at ease. Outside the office, Vicki loves trying new restaurants and exploring new places through travel.

I am a dental assistant and have worked with Dr. Spanel for a handful of years. I love the bond I have established with our patients – many have become like family. One of the best things about my job is that our team works very well together and always looks out for one another. When I am not treating smiles, I enjoy reading, traveling, and being outdoors.

Carol is passionate about patient education and loves helping people of all ages, from infants to the elderly, achieve better oral health. Her role is versatile. She serves as a dental assistant, but she also enjoys working at the front desk, where she helps patients with their insurance and coordinates treatment plans. When she’s not at the office, Carol enjoys staying active with CrossFit, spending time outdoors, and taking road trips across the country with her children.
